Max started eating rice cereal this week. It is taking some practice but he is getting the hang of it! He has also started sitting up on his own a little bit! He is growing so fast. Here are some pictures from this week...

What a fun weekend! Nick and I had such an awesome time at our marriage conference. We went with our great friends Christy and Andrew Hatfield. It was so much fun to be with them and be with each other. We learned a lot of great, practical ways to make our marriage even stronger from Dr. Gary Chapman, the author of The Five Love Languages. Nick and I decided we wanted to try to do something like that every year to keep our marriage growing and keep each other as a priority!
Max had a great time with his grandparents. He kept his grandma very entertained by laughing, jumping in his Jumparoo and playing. He even took a nap in his crib for her... not something he does for Mom! Grandma might need to move in:-)
I also inluded a picture of my elliptical that many of you helped me buy with birthday money. Thank you so much. I tried it out today for the first time. After about 10 minutes I was dying. But, I will work myself up and be a pro in no time!

Max has quite a collection now. He really likes looking at the bright colors of all the different cards!
I am so excited because my family is coming this weekend! Nick and I get to go to a marriage conference in Joplin while Max gets to spend some quality time with his Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie Em!

Wow! What a crazy/fun weekend! Nick, Max, and I were so busy but we loved every minute of it! Friday night we celebrated Christina's birthday at South Avenue Pizza Co. So much fun, delicious pizza and wonderful friends! Saturday Nick spent the morning with his friends Andrew and David while Katie spent the morning with Christy Hatfield and Max making freeze ahead casseroles. Saturday afternoon our whole family went to our friend Ryland Stoop's 1st birthday party. Max slept through most of it but he still had fun while he was awake! Then Saturday night Nick, Max, and Carl Cheadle had a boy's night while Katie went to a girl's Valentine's Day party. Sunday we rested during the day and then went over to our friends Kyle and Amy Leesman's to watch the Super Bowl. So much fun! Max really loves to watch sports so he had a great time. He also loves to get to spend time with his best friend Adria! So, we are no recouping from our busy weekend.

Max had his 4 month check-up on Monday. He did great except for a few shots! He now gets to eat solid foods... or at least try to!
