I finally have a “life”!

As I am sure everyone who has moved to a new city can attest to, it really takes awhile to get settled in and get life back to "normal". I feel like I am finally getting settled into life here in Lake St. Louis and I am really excited about that. I am really excited because I feel like I finally have things to do with my life on a day to day basis and it is really nice!

I am really looking forward to this "semester" (which is still how I look at life even though no one is in school right now!) I am still doing MOPS which I really enjoy and am starting to really feel like I fit in! I am also doing a women's morning Bible study at the new church we are attending, and I am going to do a 6 week evening study at my cousin's church with her. I also signed Max up for Kindermusik classes which is probably what I am most excited about!! I used to take the little boy I babysat to those classes and it was so much fun! So, I can't wait to do them with my own little music-lover! I am also hopeful that Nick and I will get involved in a growth group at our new church too so we can really start meeting people!

But, with that said, I am SO GRATEFUL for the time God gave me to be alone a little when we first moved here. I am naturally a very social person so if there are people to hang out with I will be there! But, when I was given no option but to stay home day after day I learned SO much!! God has taught me so much about myself, my children, and my marriage! God really does give us seasons in life and he uses them! I feel so blessed and refreshed! Looking back on it I would not trade my 6 month social sabbatical for anything!

Sorry I haven't posted in so long! I tend to write on my other blog a little more! But, in case there are some of you that just look at this one I thought I would update you on the status of the Ramsey family!

Max is doing great! He is getting huge and talking up a storm! He is always making us laugh with some funny new thing he says or does. However, he is definetly almost 2. He knows what he wants and isn't afraid to let us know what he thinks! "No" is of course one of his favorite words right now. He is also loving that it is summer and we spend a good party of most days outside (when it isn't raining). His slide, sandbox, wagon, and chalk keep him pretty busy! I am especially fond of the outside activities where I can just sit in a lawn chair and watch him play, especially as it gets hotter and I get bigger!

Speaking of getting bigger... Miss Sophie is definetly doing just that! She is measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule so she could be early or just huge! We will let you all know which. She is definetly a mover and a shaker and keeps me up at night with her dance moves. We are just so excited to meet her and finally see what she looks like. I think we are pretty much ready for her arrival after being blessed with a wonderful baby shower!

I guess that is about it for now! Hope everyone is having a blessed weekend!

Max says the funniest things these days! Today we were out and about and I was driving and he was back in his carseat. I turned to him at a stoplight and said, "Max, what should we get Grandma for Mother's Day?" and he just looks at me and simply says, "toys". I guess they do say you should give gifts that you yourself would like! It was just funny because I know he didn't know what I was talking about but it was just the most perfect answer. So, sorry mom if you are reading this, I guess you know what you are getting for Mother's Day!

I love getting Max's pictures taken! Today we had his 18 month pictures taken! I am having fun comparing his 18 month pictures to his 12 month pictures. I can't believe how big he has gotten in the past 6 months!
Here are his 18 month pictures:

I am amazed. Just a few months ago I was wondering if Max would ever talk... wow, give him time. Just a minute ago he walks up to me out of nowhere and says, "nana peash", he wanted to eat a banana! His all time favorite food! I am amazed at how his vocabulary is expanding and that he is starting to put words together. Some of the words he uses the most are:
shoe (he loves to wear shoes)
bye-bye
cow
read (we read about 20 books a day!)
please
And honestly he probably has about 50 more. Now we just need to get him talking more in front of people! He is such a people person but he can still be a little shy at first! We go to Story Time at the library once a week and I never hear a word from him the whole time because there are so many people around. But, he will get there!
I am just so amazed at how much he is learning and growing. He is such a cool little guy!

Time really seems to fly by lately! I am about 1/2 way through this pregnancy which is super exciting and crazy at the same time. I can't believe in just a few months our little girl will be here!
Right now we are in the middle of arranging the kids rooms. Max is moving into his new "toddler room" which is a sports theme and then we are going to put the new baby in the nursery. We are keeping the Classic Pooh theme that we love so much and adding a few pink touches! We painted Max's new room this weekend and I really like it. We will post pictures of both rooms when we get finished!
We had a really fun night tonight. My old college roomie, Meghan and her boyfriend Danny came and had dinner with us which was so much fun! I love Meghan and she and Danny are such a fun couple! I wish she didn't live in Oklahoma! Max loved showing off for them! He loves having people over.
Anyway, I better finish getting the kitchen cleaned up and then head to bed! Have a good night!
